Iwate University Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences is a four-year doctoral (veterinary medicine) program launched in April 2018.

The Iwate University Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences is developing a joint educational program, the "Cooperative Division of Veterinary Sciences," with the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) Graduate School of Agriculture. This program aims to provide doctoral students with international cutting-edge knowledge and superior research abilities so that they are able to engage in advanced veterinary medicine and tackle various human-animal issues such as food safety and infectious diseases.

TOPICS

  • Under a joint research guidance system with faculty members from Iwate University and the TUAT, the program helps student earn doctoral degrees in veterinary medicine by designing and implementing education and research plans based on each student's career design.
  • The curriculum provides a wide ranging and balanced mix of classes, starting from Course Subjects and Research Training Subjects offered in Veterinary Basic Sciences, Veterinary Health Sciences, and Veterinary Clinical Sciences courses as well as Common Core Subjects, Interdisciplinary Subjects, and Practical Subjects. The courses introduce various media to fit the daily schedules of working students.
