Iwate University Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences is a four-year doctoral (veterinary medicine) program launched in April 2018.

Veterinary Basic Sciences

The Veterinary Basic Sciences course focuses on "Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry" for advanced research in basic veterinary medicine on animal anatomy and physiology and "Pathology, Toxicology and Laboratory Animal Science" for advanced research in basic veterinary medicine on animal pathology. Through education and research by academic staff specializing in these fields, the course seeks to cultivate doctoral students' advanced specialized knowledge and research skills in preparation for their fundamental roles in veterinary medicine.

Veterinary Health Sciences

The Veterinary Health Sciences course focuses on "Animal Health" for advanced applied veterinary medicine on domestic animal infections and health and "Veterinary Public Health" for advanced applied veterinary medicine on public health for animals. Through education and research by academic staff specializing in these fields, the course seeks to cultivate doctoral students' advanced specialized knowledge and research skills in animal health and public health.

Through education and research by academic staff specializing in these fields, the course seeks to cultivate doctoral students' advanced specialized knowledge and research skills in veterinary medicine for farm animals and companion animals
